Every year, new pathogens emerge that trigger previously unknown infections.Covid-19 is the most recent example. HIV, Ebola and SARS are also among them. Who are these pathogens? How do they manipulate human cells? What do researchers know about them? Can this knowledge improve existing therapies?

Join us for a panel discussion, entitled "Emerging Infections - what has COVID-19 taught us" The panel discussion is organized by CSSB and the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg. Invited speakers include Prof. Dr. Nicole Fischer, Dr. Christian Löw, Prof. Dr. Thomas Mettenleiter, and Prof. Dr. Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit. A welcome address will be given by Professor Edwin J. Kreuzer and the discussion will be moderated by scientific journalist Angela Grosse. The panel discussion will take place in German.
